Meet our People of Solita. We have over 2000 employees in different locations with different skills and backgrounds – each with a story to share about what they do and what inspires them. This is the story of Hampus.

Who are you and what is your role here at Solita?

I’m Hampus, an Integration Specialist and Integration Lead. I’ve been here for over 4 years. My focus is on working with various integration platforms and cloud-based low-code tools. A significant part of my work also revolves around API management.

How did you end up in integrations, and what’s making you stay?

Initially, I didn’t have a specific plan to delve into integration; it simply happened as part of my journey as an IT Consultant.

However, I find the work intriguing—it places me at the centre of coordinating and ensuring the functionality of solutions end-to-end. The level of responsibility and the dynamic nature of integration work keep me engaged and motivated.

Tell us about a typical day in the life of an Integration Lead.

Currently, I’m on a year-long project for a manufacturing company, overseeing integrations for both their manufacturing facilities and HR systems. As an Integration Lead in this project, I’m primarily engaged in building solutions to facilitate the seamless movement of data between systems and providing support to businesses in managing their data flow. In addition to hands-on technical work, my role involves more managerial tasks, such as designing components and guiding the implementation process.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I find great satisfaction in problem-solving, whether it’s tackling technical challenges or conceptualising designs and architectures. Working on integrations allows me to engage in both types of problem-solving, considering not just the technical aspects but also the broader functional requirements of the solution.

How do you feel about working at Solita?

I feel good – much of my work involves direct interaction with clients, but I appreciate the sense of identity we maintain as a consultancy. In the end, satisfaction at work often comes down to the specific clients we work with and the projects we undertake.

Can you tell us about your experiences with trust and autonomy at Solita? What does self-leadership mean to you?

Solita, like many consulting firms, offers a high degree of autonomy, which comes with significant responsibility. I’ve had positive experiences in this regard, finding that the level of autonomy fosters a sense of ownership over my work. Self-leadership, to me, means taking accountability for my actions and performance and striving to build my path to success.

Outside work, what makes you forget about time?

Outside of work, I’m passionate about badminton, a hobby I’ve pursued for the past few years. I recently started competing in tournaments and have one coming up next week. Additionally, I’ve been playing guitar for many years and enjoy being part of different bands.
